For over 150 years, the Brewster Ladies’ Library has served as a cultural and lifelong learning resource, as well as a community center, providing free access to a wide range of resources, activities and professional assistance to further enhance the quality of life in our community.

The library is funded by the Town of Brewster, providing about 75% of the operating budget while the Brewster Ladies’ Library Association contributes approximately 25%. Consequently, membership in the Brewster Ladies’ Library Association, as well as other generous donations from the community are essential to ensuring that the library has the funds it needs to be able to sustain its vital role in the community, and make possible special events such as the Nickerson Lecture in the fall and the Sunday Concert Series throughout the winter.

Your membership in the BLLA at any level – $30, $60, $100, $250, $500 or more – allows the library to expand its collection of materials to borrow, increase the program offerings for residents of all ages, invest in contemporary technological resources, and remain a “best in class” resource for our community and this region.

What more can I say…the library has changed my life. I cannot imagine Brewster without this amazing resource.

I love the sense of community I find each time I visit the Brewster Ladies’ Library. Friends I haven’t spoken to in months, neighbors who I haven’t seen since the summer; and answers I didn’t have before I came through the door.

Brewster wouldn’t be Brewster without this library.
